Exway Flex is the more flexible version of longboard. For those of you who have previously been a fan of Boosted, here is a board that offers outstanding specs for an affordable amount. However, the quality is at least as good and just like before, you can choose whether you want to drive a hub or belt drive. What you see in front of you here, however, is the slightly stronger Riot version with belt drive. After we tested them, we could not help but state that it may have been the most versatile electric board we have ridden. Extremely sharp at all points. For those of you who want to know more, you can sit back and slowly scroll down here and you will hear about what makes this board incredibly exciting!

Due to high demand, this item is made to order. We deliver boards in order as they come in to us. Therefore, place your order immediately to secure your place in the queue.
Current waiting time is about 2 weeks.
Tip: If you place your order and choose to pay with a Klarna invoice, the invoice will not be created until we ship the item from us. That way, you won't be out of money before delivery.

A lot has happened since Exway launched its first board. And every time they launch something, we have been very tagged and impressed. Exway has really managed to push up prices considerably without compromising on quality for that matter. Now they are launching their first board with Flex. A board that really challenges Boosted. The specs that the board comes loaded with are sharper than Boosted at all points and it undeniably feels like a cool upshift.

The main difference between Flex and X1 Pro is that it has a larger smart battery, modified truckand slightly changed hardware in the system board. Exway has been appreciated because you can change the type of drive system on them. So not only the wheels but you can switch between hub and belt drive if you have the different packages. Surprisingly simple done indeed. So the same thing applies with this version. So you can switch between Flex Hub and Flex Riot. However, the previous systems are not compatible with this as the hardware is different around the motherboard.

The new Flex Riot has, among other things, widened the drive belts, which are from 10mm to 15mm, so that they will last longer over time.

So which version to choose from Exway's different options. In our opinion, the previous model Pro is cruel when it comes to stability at high speeds as the plank is more rigid and the battery is integrated in the board. Flex is for you who have previously known Boosted and prefers a flexible board. Then you have a cruel solution in front of you 🙂

So with the new Flex Riot you have a few other possibilities:

  • Longer range
  • Flex in the board
  • Smart battery that monitors the cells more closely as well as automatic sensors for long-term storage of the battery.
  • new truckto be easier to combine with bushings of other makes
  • Easier replaceable components overall
  • Replaceable battery pack
  • The speed is slightly lower, but you instead gain it back with increased range.
  • Wider straps from 10mm to 15mm

More performance - Softer feel

As described above and which will be clarified more below, the new Flex is updated in many respects. We still love the previous version in that the integrated battery and dumb plank provide incredibly good control at extremely high speeds. But for you who want to be able to have more comfort at lower speeds and perhaps a little more range, Flex is your best friend in the future.

Awesome app for full control and overview

With the new app, you get a really nice interface where you can communicate via Bluetooth with your board to adjust and optimize it yourself. You can set how the board should accelerate and brake for each "gear". You also get a full overview of the distance you drove, current range, battery capacity and much more! Impressive look and many opportunities!

Reliable & Maintenance-Free

As before, Exway is a reliable system where we have so far been very satisfied with both performance and feel in the products. Should there be any problems, Exway has a great support that supports wet and dry. Exway can now offer one of the most maintenance-free water-resistant boards on the market. The modular design means that each part can be replaced separately if something should go wrong.

Exway Flex components

Turbo Power

Exway Flex (hub) has been taken to the next level in terms of acceleration. It is today one of the absolute strongest torques you can find on a hub motor on the market. Through a new turbo mode you can take your board to new levels and you will need to feel it carefully the first few times as it will be important to "hold on". The turbo mode can take you to the board's maximum speeds of around 40 km / h.

The board is equipped with sensors in motors and together with other electronics to continuously detect and provide feedback to the control unit. It can thus act more intelligently and adjust the properties according to your current ride.

Through this smart adaptation, you get a better optimization of your board, regardless of whether you are a beginner or an experienced electric skater.

Super Flex Deck

For those of you who have been waiting for a sequel to Boosted Stealth, we would like to say that you have found it. But unlike Boosted, you can get two better Exway Flex for the price of a Boosted.

On the Flex, they have replaced the previous molded deck with integrated battery (which in itself is a very elegant solution) to make room for a more classic feeling in the deck where bamboo and fiberglass are used to rebuild the board into a camber, where you now get pumping and flex instead. Nice cutouts mean that the wheels won't catch if you throw big ones on the board. Since the board/plank/deck has a camber, you can choose where you put your feet to get different amounts of flex when riding. A wider stance means that the flex decreases, while if you tighten it up at lower speeds, you get a much more flexible feel. With extras concave with a wider stance, you can get an even better effect when you turn and you have your feet in safe "pockets".

The details

A winning concept that has also been included before is the cushioned grip tape where you have a foam that lies under the usual grip. From the previous 3mm, they have now instead settled for 2mm, considering that the board itself gives you more flex. The foam grip also gives you a better grip as the feet sit better as they can sink down in another way.

They have chosen slightly softer wheels which are now at 76a to give even more that soft cruise.

Interchangeable drive system

You do not have to sleep at night because you do not know whether to drive on a Flex Hub or Flex Riot. As before, Exway offers a replaceable drive system. You can very easily replace your entire hub / riot with the other drive system that can be purchased separately. However, it is only possible to change the drive system between Flex. Unfortunately, they are not compatible with the X1 Pro.

For those of you who choose the belt version - Flex Riot, the belts have also been widened from the previous 10mm to 15mm to be able to withstand tougher grips.

Extremely powerful hub motors

Hub motors are nothing new but the capacity and torque you get in the Exway Flex is remarkable. You get hub motors of 1200 W... each! These two strong motors allow you to climb slopes of up to 30%. In addition to that, the engines have been designed to be “push friendly" which means that you can choose to push your board like a classic longboard without it being weird. In addition, it charges when it coasts – regenerative braking.

Better protection against water

The upgraded engines are better protected against moisture and moisture that tends to penetrate. The ball bearings have been changed to a variant that will withstand moisture better so you can be calm. As usual, it is not recommended to wakeboard with your electric board, but it is always nice to have it as protected as possible from water when the rain surprises. The X1 Pro should now be one of the best water-resistant alternatives on the market. Exway has IP55 protection on both its X1 Pro and Flex, which feels reassuring. However, you should always be careful when riding in water as ball bearings can still take a beating. But the electronics must have good protection in any case 🙂

Security & Charging

Exway's battery management is extremely developed and designed to insure against overvoltage and to keep capacity better. It complies with international safety standard ANSI-UL2271. Some of the protections you have built in include:

  • Overcharging and voltage protection as well as temperature-protected cells.
  • At low battery, the power is adjusted automatically so as not to risk empty fuel cells.
  • When the voltage is too high or low from the batteries, you will be notified via feedback in your control and OLED display to maintain a safe ride.

In addition to improved battery safety, you also get a flexible charging connector that is a magnetic coupling. Like Apple's Magsafe. In other words, the contact is fixed with magnetic force. Which means that if you happen to trip on the cord, it can more easily drop into the socket without damaging any components. Smooth, good and ingenious.

Smart and Swappable Battery

Through an improved sensor system, the ESC (motherboard) can better monitor the battery cells to avoid overcharging or short circuiting. The new SONY VCT6 high-capacity 18650 cells can handle a higher discharge to ensure that the battery stays level over a longer period of time.

An improved galvanometer ensures better reflection of the cells' energy.

A built-in mode ensures that a low-power mode is automatically triggered when the board is stored for a long time to ensure that the cells are not damaged. However, you should always follow the instructions in the instruction manual for best battery maintenance over time.

An exciting news is also that on Flex you can more easily change the battery over time. For those of you who have previously owned a Boosted, Exway's variant is equivalent when it comes to changing the batteries. How nice if something went wrong over time or when you for some reason neglected the care of the board.

The battery is also protected from water according to IP55 standard.

Exway “The Sad” Truck

On the Flex version, Exway has chosen to install a completely new one truck which they themselves developed. The advantage of it is that it is easier to combine with optional types of bushings to be able to even more adapt the feeling in the ride and truckone's characteristics. Truckone is extra reinforced to not bend over time and to maintain its properties over time. As a default, it comes with a bushing of 90a to provide a fairly cozy all-round experience (if you need softer or harder, we have lots of options for you under components and bushings).

R1 Intelligent Remote Control

The new control is designed to provide better ergonomics and grip. You have a rubberized surface on the control that gives you a good grip even if it is damp or wet. Acceleration and braking are done with a throttle control that is designed as a wheel. This allows you to easily adjust speed while driving while making it easier to brake in a controlled manner. Through an OLED display you can easily see the status of the board or control. You also get feedback through vibrations if you need to be observant of something. Via the control, you can select 4 different riding modes. Where position 1 is a throttled position and where the highest position is maximum rotation and top speed.
