TIPS ON GOOD CRUISERS

A LITTLE GENERAL ABOUT CRUISER BOARDS

A cruiser is usually a board that focuses on comfort and stability. Sometimes, but not always, they are longer in the model. However, an excessively long board can be difficult to maneuver if you are a child or weigh less. Cruising and downhill are two riding styles that are opposites of each other, you could say. The first classic longboard was of the pintail shape, which is the teardrop-shaped model. A model that is still alive and that is terribly nice to glide on. When cruising, it can be nice with a little flex in the board. Cruising sometimes involves "dancing", which is a form of balance tricks where you walk around / dance on the board while you go and turn. Really nice way to impress those you pass on the tour.

The board can be a pintail (teardrop-shaped) or symmetrical (ie equal in both directions). A pintail usually gets a little slower in the turns. This is because you do not create as much leverage / pressure on the backtruckone when the board is narrower at the back. If you want a stable board, you can choose a pintail.

BOARD FLEX

A cruiser can usually be nice to have a little flex in. This makes it softer and more comfortable to carry. It absorbs vibrations and makes the turns a little softer.

LENGTH OF THE BOARD

The length of the longboard is a matter of taste. It can be nice to have a little length on your cruiser as you usually have to kick a lot and take off. A longer board usually provides more stability than a shorter one. A length of between + 37 ″ is quite normal.
