We've praised them before, but it's time again because Exway is now releasing its latest generation of e-skates. In the shadow of Boosted, which suddenly announced in the spring of 2020 that they would no longer continue, both skateboarders and we as sellers were left with jaws dropped. A brand that had been a leader for so long suddenly went to the grave. What happens next is still unclear, but now that the mourning has subsided, we suddenly feel very motivated. Exway is coming up with its own version of an e-skate with flex. We would say the board replaces the Boosted without discussion as it is sharper in all points of its specs. You get a flexible board with a range and maximum speed that defeats the Boosted Stealth itself.
New Features
Well, in addition to these points, the motherboard or the so-called ESC has been improved for those who are nerds and know what that means. At least now you know that it is the same thing. You get more powerful batteries that should have better monitoring of the cells while containing more gunpowder than in the previous version. If the previous X1 Pro took you a distance of 20 miles, you can now actually go closer to 35 miles on a charge. This means that you can now handle a distance better while you can visit relatives who live further away.
In my opinion, battery capacity has always been a point that you like to prioritize. Of course, on some very small e-skates it can be nice when they are light and handy, but in most cases it is nice to be able to ride a little as you want without having to nervously check the battery percentage.
Well, that was it with what has changed since before:
- Longer range
- Flex in the board
- More smart sensors in the battery
- New trucks to make it easier to combine with bushings from other brands
- Easier replaceable components and battery packs
- The speed is slightly lower, but you make up for it with increased range.
Cheaper?!
Many are probably wondering now why the new Flex is cheaper than the previous version… because we did too. It is largely because the deck construction is in wood and not in a molded shape as before where everything was more complicated and expensive to make. This plank is in wood and fiberglass to give it its flexible properties and that is a large part of the price difference. So just say thank you and accept. With this board you will save even faster on gas money, parking fees, congestion tax, bus tickets or other means of transportation that you usually pay for. This is a way to get around that is not only fun for your wallet but also for the environment and you as a freedom-seeking boarder.
In summary
We have ridden the Exway X1 Pro a lot ourselves and we have loved it. The silent brushless motors and the reliable battery have made the ride a joy. A board that goes very fast if you want. Despite its top speed of 46 knots, this board has a surprisingly reliable and safe construction that means you have good control at very high speeds. Much of this is thanks to the stiffer board. So even though the new Flex has a slightly lower top speed, we don't think it matters as you probably prefer comfortable handling at other speeds and given its flex, it is made for sharper cruising comfort. Note that for this reason you should always follow speed recommendations. If you are going to drive faster than 25km/h, you should drive on the road. Regardless, there is never a problem with nice torque if you want to make an elegant overtaking.
Exciting pictures on Exway Flex
Well, what can you say, the Exway Flex is clearly a board that fills a vacuum after the extremely popular Boosted Stealth.
