Evolve Skateboards GTR 2 Bamboo All Terrain

Evolve are known for their quality and it feels extra safe to be able to offer them here at Boardlife. GTR 2 Bamboo is an updated version made of high-quality Bamboo. They are available, just like the Carbon boards, in a street version and an All Terrain that you can see here. An off-road monster built to get you everywhere on all possible surfaces and conditions. So it's the same board but different wheels.

The GTR Bamboo can be driven with the larger offroad wheels or you can simply switch to the smaller street wheels. Depending on whether you choose to drive the street wheels or all terrain, the range and top speed are slightly different. The larger wheels make you accessible in all possible places and the range is 30 km despite the large wheels! With a top speed of 38 km/h. If you switch to smaller wheels you can reach up to 50 km and a top speed of 44 km/h.

All Terrain will take you anywhere no matter what the conditions are. Its air-filled wheels also make the mobility and grip extremely good. For those of you who may live in places where you have gravel roads or the like, this is easily solved. You can even drive it over grass and paths if you want. This monster doesn't let anything stop you from taking the road you want to take!

So whether you choose All Terrain or Street, it's the same board. You can easily purchase a conversion kit to convert the GTR Bamboo 2 to the desired version.

Bamboo vs. Carbon

What is the difference between the bamboo board and the carbon fiber board? Apart from the fact that the Carbon looks quite raw, it is slightly lighter in construction than the bamboo board. In addition, it can withstand riders up to 120kg while the recommended maximum weight of the bamboo version is 100kg. On the other hand, the bamboo version is a little softer so for those of you who want a nice cruising feel, you can get this one with a little cozy flex on the plank.

So what's new in version 2?

Although the already long range and top speed have not been changed, the model has been updated both inside and out. The quality and durability of the components inside have been improved. By having a long experience with the GTR model, it has been possible to focus on refining improvements for the GTR2.

• The motors have been replaced with the same ones that Hadean uses, which gives significantly more power and torque. These motors can handle much harder resistance and do not get hot like previous motors could.
• Stronger and slightly faster than GTR(1) but same range.
• Quieter engines.
• Improved durability.
• Improved cooling capabilities.
• With Bluetooth FOC, it has been possible to improve the response and communication between the controller and the board, resulting in the board receiving a significantly more direct response.
• The controller itself is now also the new Phaze model as standard. So you get a controller that holds up significantly better and also features a brand new gorgeous display.
• New ESC/Motor Controller similar to the one Hadean has which provides more customization options than before.
• Extra quiet ESC that is almost silent.

In conjunction with the release of the GTR2, the older model is also being phased out. However, we always have the opportunity to track down older spare parts for previous models of Evolve.

The Ride

The Remote

The all-new Phaze remote provides intuitive acceleration and braking through its dual trigger design and shrouds it in a robust aluminum frame. A CNC aluminum frame creates the backbone of the controller, strengthening it with the construction that aims to create a remote that meets the needs of the most hardcore riders. Its advanced user interface allows riders to track previous rides, view board diagnostics information, and control settings such as light colours/modes and speed limits. The Phaze is the most sophisticated remote in the electric skateboarding industry.

The App

The Evolve GTR 2 Bamboo All Terrain offers more riding modes than ever before, with ECO, SPORT, and GTR built in as standard. Using the Explore By Evolve app, riders can adjust the total power, acceleration, and braking curves to perfectly suit their riding style. You can also track and share your rides, compete against the worldwide community of riders on the leader board and, of course, use the app for over-the-air updates for IOS and Android phones. Oh, and did we mention you can use the app to view diagnostic information and apply custom lighting mode to your Prism Strips?
