Lip

All wheels have different properties and conditions. When talking about the properties of the wheel, the “lip” of the wheel is usually mentioned. This means what type of shape the edge of the wheel has. An angular and straight lip usually provides more grip when you turn because the sharp edge has an easier time gripping the asphalt when you turn. Sometimes it can also be the case that an angular lip is just more difficult to start in a slide. Once you get started with a slide, these wheels can be quite fun to slide with. In other words, a rounded lip is the opposite, they are easier to start on a slide.

When you have worn down your wheels properly over time, any rounded lip will disappear and give way to a straighter and slightly more angular lip instead.
