Your trucks consist of two parts. One base plate and a hanger. The latter is the part that is the wheel axle itself and where you then attach your wheels. Your hanger can be designed in a similar way so that the angle of your truck will be slightly different. This in turn affects how sharply you can turn. Some trucks have a hanger that you can unscrew and turn to get a different truck angle. Examples of this include Paris which allows you to get a truck angle of 50° or 44° depending on which way you mount the hanger.

- Term: RakeRake means that a truck's hanger (the part that is the truck axle itself) is made so that it can be turned around. Depending on how this rake is designed, the angle of the truck can be changed. If it is not affected, you will still get another characteristic in that the truck becomes more swingable with positive rake (standard) and more stable if you turn the truck axle to negative rake.
- Term: BushingsBushings are found in your trucks and are the "soft" part that regulates how much your trucks will swing when you lean on the board.
