There are several ways that trucks are mounted on a board. One of the types that exist is a so-called dropthrough. This means that the deck itself has a hole cut out of it. By unscrewing your trucks, you can thread them through the hole and thus make the truck much lower than if it had been mounted entirely on the underside. Dropthrough is more stable because you get closer to the ground and the truck is mounted above the board. For those of you looking for comfortable cruising, this may be a good fit.
The opposite of dropthrough is topmount where the trucks are mounted on the underside.
Dropthrough trucks are most common on boards that have cut-outsThis is because the wheels would otherwise have come so close to the board that you would have tended to get wheelbite.
