R7

When talking about R7 in a skateboarding context, it means how the deck is made. R7 stands for Resin-7 which refers to the number of layers that are usually used in the deck. In this case, all layers of Canadian maple have been pressed in a press, which means that each board will have the same shape and no exceptions. So you can trust that the shape will be identical every time. A special powerful epoxy is also used to glue all layers. Because it is so strong, not as much is needed, which in turn means that you can reduce the amount of glue and thus save on weight. R7 decks are therefore lighter, stiffer and are said to last longer than traditional constructions.
