Lip

All wheels have different properties and conditions. When talking about the properties of the wheel, it is usually mentioned which "lip" the wheel has. This means the type of shape the edge of the wheel has. An angular and straight lip usually gives more grip when you turn because the sharp edge is easier to grip in the asphalt when you turn. Sometimes it can also be the case that an angular lip is only more difficult to get started in a slide. Once you are working on a slide, these wheels can be quite fun to slide with. In other words, a rounded lip is the opposite, they are easier to get started on a slide.

When you have worn down your wheels properly over time, a possible rounded lip disappears and gives a straighter and slightly more angular lip instead.
